The 4th Master Plan for the Development of the Korean Language(2022~2026) is established.

The 3th Master Plan for the Development of the Korean Language(2017~2021) is established.

Urimalsaem, a web-based open dictionary and a compilation of knowledge on the Korean Language, is launched. The Basic Korean Dictionary is introduced for learners of the Korean Language. The National Institute of Korean Language’s Korean-Foreign Language Learner’s Dictionary is launched.

The Language Research Department were reorganized with Korean Sign Language and Korean Braille Promotion Division.

The Braille Act(Law No. 14205) is enacted and promulgated.

Korean Sign Language Dictionary is launched.

The second project plans for the development of the Korean language (2012~2016) was established.

The three research departments were reorganized as Language Research Department, Public Language Promotion Department, and Korean Language Education and Promotion Department.

Standard Korean Language Dictionary released a revised edition and launched the online service.

The Framework Act on Korean Language (Act No. 7368) was announced.

The National Research Institute of the Korean Language was renamed The National Institute of the Korean Language (Presidential Decree No. 18588).

The Institute was relocated to the present office building in Banghwa-dong (#827, Banghwa 3-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul).

The Institute published Standard Korean Language Dictionary in 3 volumes.

The three research departments were renamed as Department of Language Standardization Research, Department of Descriptive Linguistic Research, and Department of Bibliographical and Pedagogical Research and Public Relations as the Ministry of Culture and its affiliates were reorganized (Presidential Decree No. 14249).

The Institute commenced the compilation of Standard Korean Language Dictionary.

The Institute was reopened as The National Academy of the Korean Language affiliated to the Ministry of Culture.

The organization of the Institute (Presidential Decree No. 13163) consisted of the General Affairs Division and Research Department I, II, and III.

The Research Institute of the Korean Language was opened as an affiliate of the National Institute of Sciences.
