This is a seated statue of King Sejong built in
May of 1968. It was manufactured by sculptor Kim Kyung Seung, and co-sponsored
by 'Committee for building statues of patriotic ancestors' and 'Seoul Newspaper
Company' in commemoration of his great contributions. Its stand is made
of stone and its 3 surfaces are decorated with embossed various scientific
tools invented in the time of King Sejong. Flower presenting ceremony is held in commemoration of Hangeul Day in front of the statue every year. |
