The features of Young-nung :
If you take a look at Young-nung, one of the tombs best showing the structures of tomb system of Chosun Dynasty, it has Mt. Chingsung behind forming a mound in the middle, blue dragon and white tiger in each side, and faces Mt. Buksung far away to the south according to the geomancy.
There is Hongsalmun (a red gate with spiked top) in the entrance, and the path leads visitors up to Jungjagak (a "T"-shaped house for sacrifice before a royal tomb)
There is Subokbang and Bigak(a monument house) in the east of Jungjagak, and Suragan(the royal kitchen) in the west.

Stone banisters are surrounding the mound in 12 directions, Child stone pillars sustaining the stone banisters display directions with the 12 horary signs on them Chinese Characters were carved.. Two Honyusuk(혼유석) and Jangmyongdung(장명등) are laid in front to show it is a tomb of a man and his wife, Mangjusuk (a pair of stone posts in front of a tomb) are in both sides. 8 stone sheep and stone tigers are disposed in pairs facing outside, in the form of guarding the tomb, and a curved wall is surrounding 3 directions of east, west and north. On a quite lower shelf in front of the tomb, there are two pairs of stone literary men and two pairs of stone warriors are arranged, and stone horses are disposed behind each literary man and warrior.


Displayed legacy :
There is Sejongjeon, a pavilion built in 1977 to commemorate the great works of King Sejong, in the left of the main gate. There are portraits of King Sejong, scientific tools and musical instruments invented and used in those days, and books published in King Sejong's time. In the outdoor display center in front of Sejongjeon, there are 15 revived relics such as sundial, Chunsangyulchabunyajiedo(천상열차분야지도), Jakykru(자격루), Gwanchungdae(관천대), Chikwooki(측우기), Honchunui(혼천의), Kanui(간의) to let visitors see scientific tools in the time of King Sejong in a glance.


Introduction of events :
Cultural Properties Administration hosts worshiping ceremony as a national event on 15th May (10:30 am), King Sejong's birthday, every year to commemorate his legacy and great works. Celebrities from many fields including the cultural art world, organizations for King Sejong, and normal spectators attend this celebration ceremony in Jungjagak, which will be 605th anniversary in 2002. In this ceremony, the band and dancers from the National Center for Korean Traditional Performing Arts perform Bongraeui(봉래의), composed by King Sejong, and inauguration ceremony of restoring scientific relics of King Sejong's time is performed every year.

Also, the religious service to commemorate King Sejong's death is held at noon on April 8 with attendance of 300 royal descendants, and the service for the Queen Sohyun is held at noon on April 28 every year hosted by the Chunju Lee Clan Association.(전주이씨대동종약원 영릉봉향회)
